After simmering in the election results, I announced that I wouldn’t be hosting Thanksgiving this year. For years, my nesting partner and I have opened our home to those shunned from/shunning their family or just those who couldn’t afford a ticket home. I’d lean fully into my Martha Stewart energy: creating little pumpkin butter pats, putting a linktree to sources to donate to Indigenous causes in everyone’s place card, and introducing friends to a demitasse spoon.
